Licensed Colorist

Licensed Colorists at Madison Reed Hair Color Bar are essential to our guest promise, delivering quality services and excellent guest care. You love beauty and hair color, and pride yourself on helping guests find the best color for them and executing their service with perfection.

This role reports to the Manager, can be full or part-time depending on business needs, and requires availability during peak times to best serve our guests.

We offer competitive pay, with a starting hourly rate of $19-$21, plus commissions, tips, and bonuses. Pay factors include geography, skills, education, experience, and qualifications. Commissions and tips vary based on individual performance.

Responsibilities:

• Provide a guest experience aligned with our values of Love, Joy, Trust, Courage, and Responsibility.
• Perform consultations and all services on the menu, including shampooing, styling, chemical treatments, and more, ensuring high quality and guest satisfaction.
• Assist guests in selecting suitable products and colors, while remaining flexible to business needs and punctuality.
• Contribute to achieving sales goals in retail, services, and memberships.
• Maintain cleanliness, merchandising, inventory, and security standards at the Hair Color Bar.
• Follow company protocols and procedures regarding systems and policies.
• Increase revenue through upselling additional services, memberships, and products.
• Participate in ongoing training and stay updated on Madison Reed products and services.
• Support the training of Assistant Colorists through coaching and demonstration.

Physical Demands: Standing, walking, bending, twisting, manipulating fingers and hands, reaching, lifting up to 10 pounds, and communicating regularly with guests.

Qualifications:

• Active cosmetology license in the applying state.
• Minimum 1 year experience as a colorist in a salon environment.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and people skills.
• Comfortable operating point of sale systems.
• Fluent in English.
