Job summary

Carle Health is seeking an additional BE/BC Colon-Rectal Surgeon to join our team at Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana, Illinois. The role offers a full spectrum of colon-rectal surgery with a collaborative team, teaching opportunities, and access to research initiatives.

Ideal candidates have 2–3 years post-fellowship experience (new graduates may apply) and may have a pelvic floor disorders interest. Excellent benefits and a comprehensive compensation package accompany this opportunity.

Qualifications

• Board certified or eligible in colorectal surgery.
• Minimum 2–3 years of post-fellowship clinical practice preferred; new graduates may apply.
• Dedicated clinical interest in pelvic floor disorders preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform the full spectrum of elective and emergent colon-rectal surgery (IBD, anorectal disease, pelvic floor dysfunction, diverticulitis, colon cancer).
• Join a collaborative team of 5 physicians and 2 APPs focused on high-quality, evidence-based care and research participation.
• Engage in teaching General Surgery Residents and medical students with potential faculty appointment through Carle Illinois College of Medicine.
• Collaborate on research opportunities with the University of Illinois and Biomedical Research Center.
• Participate in 1:4 call rotation (including weekends/holidays) and maintain dedicated clinic/OR time.
