Job summary

Oterra, a global leader in naturally sourced colors for food and beverages, is seeking a Production Operator to join our Mount Pleasant facility. You will work under supervision performing setup, operation, and packaging tasks while adhering to GMP, sanitation and safety standards.

Key duties include material transfer, sampling for QC, labeling, and maintaining records. The role requires basic math, ability to read recipes, and effective communication with team members.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, write and speak English.
• Ability to apply basic mathematical concepts to the production process.
• Ability to read and follow a recipe for blending and/or mixing product.
• Ability to operate a forklift.
• Ability to use basic hand tools for assembly and disassembly of equipment.
• Ability to communicate effectively with co-workers about production status.
• High School Diploma or GED; production experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, adjust and clean equipment to produce color products and package finished goods per quality, GMP, safety and sanitation standards.
• Locate, prepare, transfer and load materials to processing; move WIP or finished goods to filling, processing, storage or shipping areas.
• Prepare packing materials and packaging labels and stage containers for transfer.
• Draw samples and take to QC lab for testing; confer with lab and adjust process to meet specifications.
• Print and apply labels to products.
• Complete paperwork or data entry for production and lab records and inventory levels.
• Follow GMP, safety, sanitation and quality specifications and procedures.
