Job summary

Optimal Solution Company is seeking a Color & Materials/Product Designer for a studio role focused on creating, coordinating, and recommending annual color and trim programs for interior and exterior surfaces.

The candidate will leverage expertise in color processes for automotive materials, manage data and global supplier coordination, and drive new global processes while ensuring quality targets and timely delivery.

Qualifications

• Minimum 4 years color and materials experience, with trend forecasting or interior design exposure.
• Proficient with Microsoft Excel; able to create spreadsheets to manage material flow vs timing.
• Knowledge of color processes for automotive materials (paint, plastic, fabric, graining).
• Self-starter with strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently.
• Able to lift 30 lbs and coordinate with global suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and track incoming/outgoing masters to internal personnel and suppliers.
• Track and report status of design-related mastering items.
• Coordinate globally with suppliers for master distribution.
• Analyze and input data into the global database.
• Help define and implement new global processes.
• Certify incoming materials to meet color quality targets.
• Coordinate with external sources to resolve material-related issues.
