Job summary

Dysart High School in El Mirage, AZ is seeking a dedicated Band Assistant Guard Caption to support the high school marching band’s color guard. You will assist the Band Director by coordinating exercises, preparing activities, and aiding performances across field shows and winter guard programs.

The role requires experience with color guard routines, working with K-12 students, and collaboration with band staff. The position is a temporary, non-benefited assignment with a stipend.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; higher education degree preferred.
• Experience in color guard sub groups (flags, rifles, sabres, dance) required.
• Experience composing and choreographing color guard routines.
• Experience working with school-aged students; preferably at high school level.
• Experience in marching band auxiliary performance.

Responsibilities

• Develop visual program for flag, uniform, and prop design.
• Attend rehearsals and performances; instruct in dance, flag, and color guard rifle techniques.
• Assist choreography and color guard routines in various band formats.
• Create color guard rehearsal schedule and recruit members.
• Maintain equipment for rehearsals and performances; coordinate with staff.
