Description

The Department of Surgery at the State University of New York at Stony Brook is seeking a full-time faculty member to join its Division of Colon and Rectal Surgery. This position offers an exciting opportunity for candidates with a strong academic focus and a commitment to clinical practice, medical education, and research.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent clinical skills-including robotic, laparoscopic, and endoscopic techniques-and demonstrate a passion for surgical education. The role is well-suited for a motivated surgeon interested in joining an expanding practice in Suffolk County, with privileges across multiple hospitals and access to several outpatient facilities.

In addition to providing patient care, responsibilities will include teaching medical students, residents, and fellows, as well as engaging in clinical and/or basic science research. Existing research funding is desirable but not required. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

Board certified or board eligible in Colon and Rectal Surgery. Current valid New York State medical license or eligibility for licensure. Proficiency in robotic, laparoscopic, and endoscopic procedures. Interest in surgical education, research and academic medicine.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience teaching residents and fellows. Involvement in clinical and/or basic science research. Demonstrated commitment to advancing medical education and scholarly activity.
