Job summary

Hendrick Collision Center Hwy 55 Durham is seeking a skilled auto body technician to identify and perform repair work according to factory and Collision Center specifications.

You will examine damage, estimate costs, order parts, and perform repairs while maintaining safety standards and accurate records in the dealership system.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least five years of body shop experience, plus a valid driver's license.

Summary

Responsible for identifying and performing necessary body repair work in accordance with factory and Collision Center specifications.

Supervisory Responsibilities

This job has no direct supervisor responsibilities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Examines body damage on customer vehicles
• Identifies necessary body repair work
• Estimates cost of body work
• Requests necessary parts
• Performs body repairs including removing damaged body parts and replacing with fixed or new parts
• Documents repairs performed
• Performs body repairs efficiently and according to Collision Center and insurance company guidelines
• Maintains CSI at or above Company standards
• Maintains an organized, clean and safe work area
• Participates in required training
• Records all hours worked accurately in company timekeeping system
• Follows Safeguards rules and regulations.
• Demonstrates the Company's Core Values.
• Complies with Company policies and procedures.
• Observes all Federal, State, Local and Company safety rules and regulations in the performance of duties.

Thorough knowledge of automotive parts and systems. Demonstrable mechanical skills and knowledge. Technical training or commensurate technical experience required.

Math Ability

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
• Proficiency in using measurements to assess parts and ensure proper fitting during repairs and maintenance.

Environment Demands

Duties are performed primarily in the service area. Work includes movement around vehicles, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions. Frequently interacts with customers, service advisors and the service manager.

Communication Skills

• Ability to clearly communicate with customers and team members to accurately diagnose issues, explain repair needs, and provide updates on vehicle status.
• Must be able to follow detailed service instructions and relay any necessary information about repairs, maintenance or parts requirements to ensure efficient workflow and customer satisfaction.
