Job summary

Hendrick Collision Center Hickory, part of Hendrick Automotive Group, seeks an experienced Auto Body Technician to identify and perform authorized body repairs per factory specs. The role requires demonstrable knowledge of body repair methods, collision repair training or equivalent experience, and the ability to operate collision center equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Examine body damage on customer vehicles and identify necessary repair work.
  • Estimate cost of body work and request necessary parts.
  • Perform body repairs including removing damaged parts and replacing with fixed or new parts.
  • Document repairs performed and maintain CSI and safety standards.
  • Follow company policies, OSHA rules, and provide excellent customer service.

Ability to communicate effectively with customers and company personnel.**Attendance Expectations:**The position requires regular and predictable attendance. Scheduled shifts may include evening hours, weekends, and holidays.**Physical Demands:**Must be able to lift up to 80 pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to hear and talk; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must pass OSHA respiratory medical exam.**Environment Demands:**Duties are performed primarily in the Collision Center. Work includes movement of vehicle body parts, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, paint-dust, and other collision center conditions. Frequently interacts with customers, Estimators, and Collision Center management.**Verbal and Writing Ability:**Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.**Math Ability:**Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.**Reasoning Ability:**Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations.
