Job summary

Ray Laethem in Detroit is seeking skilled body shop technicians to tackle a heavy backlog at Detroit's largest collision center. The shop services direct repair work for major carriers, including State Farm, Citizens, AAA, MEEMIC, and Auto-Owners, with a robust loaner fleet ensuring continuous workflow.

You will perform collision repairs to manufacturer standards, work with estimators and painters, and help maintain a safe, organized shop environment.

Qualifications

• Previous professional body shop experience.
• Knowledge of collision repair procedures, welding, and frame repair.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship.

Responsibilities

• Perform collision repairs according to manufacturer and industry standards.
• Repair and replace damaged body panels, frames, and structural components.
• Complete body filler, sanding, grinding, welding, and metal-finishing work.
• Remove and reinstall vehicle parts, trim, and related components.
• Produce safe, high-quality repairs while meeting production timelines.
• Work closely with estimators, painters, parts, and management.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
