Job summary

Summit Truck Bodies, LLC in Wathena, KS is seeking a Collision Repair and Refinish Technician to prepare bodies for painting. This full-time role requires sanding, masking, prep, and applying bondo/seam sealer, with emphasis on accuracy and safety.

You will read blueprints and work orders, use hand and power tools, and maintain clean, safe work areas. A HS diploma and valid driver’s license with a good MVR are required; experience in paint or collision repair is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with good standing MVR.
• Experience in paint, collision repair, and/or related field.
• Ability to use hand and power tools and equipment.
• Ability to read gauges, measurement tools, blueprints and work orders.
• Keen attention to detail is required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work to be accomplished by studying work order, bill of materials and blueprints.
• Sand, masking and prepping bodies and parts before paintwork starts and finishes.
• Apply bondo/seam sealer and prep for final finishing and sanding.
• Wet sand and polish custom-colored bodies and doors.
• Dispose of hazardous waste from the painting process in accordance with laws.
• Observe health and safety by wearing PPE.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Participate in continuous improvement programs and offer initiative.
• Other duties as assigned by the manager.
