Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass is seeking a Production Assistant in Gardendale, AL. The role supports the GM by ensuring materials and parts are available to technicians, participates in repair plan meetings, and keeps dashboards current.

You will oversee parts flow, coordinate disassembly and production staging, communicate changes, and ensure equipment readiness. Requires high school diploma and experience in collision repair; drivers license may be needed.

Responsibilities

• Ensures consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Oversees major disassembly for repair planning and manages vehicle movement.
• Parts oversight—verifies, stores, and dispatches parts; ensures unused parts are returned for credit.
• Keeps techs and GM informed of changes to repair plans or timelines.
• Facilitates efficient use of collision center equipment and space.
• Coordinates sublet functions and communicates scheduling across teams.
• Maintains communication between metal and paint departments regarding vehicle flow.
• Oversees preventive equipment maintenance and housekeeping in stalls.
• Directs porters and detailers to ensure timely vehicle movement and detailing.
