Job summary

Gerber Collision & Glass in Tuscaloosa, AL is seeking an Auto Body Technician to deliver an exceptional customer experience through meticulous assessment and repair of vehicles to restore them to pre-accident condition.

You will disassemble, repair, reassemble, and align chassis, replace parts and glass, and ensure work meets our speed, quality, and customer-excellence standards of The Boyd Group.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Technical school program OR a 3-year apprenticeship as auto body repairer.

Responsibilities

• Ensure consistent execution of WOW (Wow Operating Way) plan.
• Plan the repair work and prepare cost estimates for customers; use cutting guns, plasma cutters, hydraulic jacks, hammers, and pliers.
• Hammer out dents and apply filler resins when needed.
• Realign car chassis and frames to repair structural damage.
• Replace damaged sections with new or aftermarket parts; replace or repair glass and interiors as needed.
• Weld and fit parts; prepare and repaint vehicles to factory-specified standards.
• Complete work orders within labor time guidelines and inspect vehicles after repair.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
