Job summary

Long Island University (LIU) seeks a dedicated Men’s Soccer Assistant Coach/Player Development to support the head coach in all aspects of the program. This part-time role spans 10 months (Aug 1, 2026 – May 31, 2026) and includes practice planning, player development, recruitment, and program administration to foster a competitive, positive team environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; NCAA Division I coaching experience preferred.
Minimum of 2 years coaching experience at the collegiate level or comparable high-level playing/coaching experience.
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with ability to mentor student-athletes.

Responsibilities

Coaching and Leadership: Implement coaching strategies to develop players’ skills and performance.
Recruitment: Identify and recruit prospective student-athletes and build relationships with coaches.
Team Management: Assist with practice planning, match prep, travel logistics, and welfare.
Academic Support: Ensure student-athletes maintain academic standing and progress toward degrees.
Compliance: Uphold NCAA, conference, and LIU regulations with integrity.
Community Engagement: Represent LIU and the program in campus and local communities.
Budget Management: Assist with program budget and resource use.
