Job summary

Detroit Country Day School is seeking a Head Coach to lead our athletic program in the school’s competitive environment. The role involves instruction, supervision, and coordination of practices, games, and safety for student-athletes.

The ideal candidate has at least 2 years of coaching experience, CPR certification, strong interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to collaborate with faculty, students, and parents to advance the school's athletic mission.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years coaching experience preferred.
• Knowledgeable about the rules and fundamental techniques required of the sport.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Must have and maintain current CPR certification.
• Ability to work effectively with coaching staff, students, and parents.
• Ideal candidates will demonstrate interest in contributing as both a faculty member and coach within the school.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all rules and policies of the Detroit Country Day School at all times.
• Supply their professional services commensurate with the school’s contractual obligations to the school, students and parents.
• Provide instruction and leadership.
• Assist with tryouts and determining which students become team members.
• Assist with organizing, preparing and conducting practices, training and competitions.
• Coordinate with the athletic staff to ensure safety and effectiveness of programs.
