Job summary

Middle Tennessee State University is seeking an Associate Athletic Trainer to oversee student‑athlete medical services and supervise intern trainers. You will coordinate care for men's and women's cross country and track teams, design rehab plans, and manage return‑to‑play decisions while ensuring OSHA, NCAA and NATA compliance.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred), NATA BOC certification, and TN licensure or eligibility, with CPR/First Aid/AED certifications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; master’s preferred.
• NATA BOC certification and TN licensure or eligibility.
• CPR/First Aid/AED certifications required.
• Knowledge of NCAA, CUSA, NATABOC rules; HIPAA compliance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate athletic training services for student‑athletes across multiple sports.
• Design/implement rehabilitation plans and return‑to‑play criteria.
• Coordinate concussion and baseline testing; provide game/practice coverage.
• Ensure compliance with NCAA, CAATE, NATA and related regulations.
• Direct interns and student trainers; mentor in education program.
• Attend meetings and report compliance issues to appropriate offices.
