Qualifications

• Current teaching credential, or equivalent supervision experience.
• Experience in school settings with California standards alignment.
• Knowledge of TPEs, TPA model and program curriculum.
• Familiarity with supervision approaches such as cognitive coaching and adult learning theory.
• This position is a continuing, special compensation / non-course assignment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate placement meetings and assist in training Cooperating Teachers.
• Attend College Supervisor meetings.
• Serve as liaison between Kalmanovitz School of Education and the school site.
• Conduct an initial placement meeting with the Candidate and Cooperating Teacher.
• Complete paperwork as required – Placement Verification Form, Teaching and Learning Fieldwork Contracts, Observation Forms, and Evaluation Forms.
• Review lesson plans, including those for edTPA.
• Observe the Candidate instructing students in the classroom as required.
• Maintain communication with the Candidate for duration of placement(s).
• Provide support, encouragement, feedback, and constructive criticism to Candidate concerning the field experience.
• Maintain contact and encourage open communication with school administrators and Cooperating Teachers.
• Facilitate the final evaluation and complete the Field Experience Assessment with input from Candidate and Cooperating Teacher.
• Submit the paperwork to the Coordinator of Field Experience.
• Assist in ongoing training of the Cooperating Teachers.
• Complete a final evaluation of the Cooperating Teacher.
• Write letters of recommendations at the conclusion of the Teaching and Learning experience.
