Job summary

The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley is seeking an Education Program Coordinator for the College Access & K-12 Partners department. The role provides guidance to students and families on college readiness, applications, financial aid, and planning, and coordinates recruitment and tutoring services to promote post-secondary success.

Responsibilities include monitoring student progress, planning enrichment opportunities, and collaborating with school personnel to deliver targeted services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Two (2) years of experience in K-12 or Higher Education performing related duties.
• Experience with program evaluation, partnership development, and objectives-based programming.

Responsibilities

• Provides information and support to students and families to assist with college planning, applications, and financial aid.
• Coordinates the student recruitment process by interviewing and selecting eligible participants.
• Monitors and assesses student academic progress in collaboration with school personnel.
• Plans, implements, and evaluates enrichment programs such as summer programming, conferences, and college visits.
• Coordinates tutoring/mentoring services to increase academic achievement and transition to post-secondary education.
• Collects and maintains participant and program data for reporting purposes.
• Provides information and support services in collaboration with school administration and instructional staff.
• Conducts workshops for students and families to promote college readiness.
• Trains and supervises tutors/mentors as assigned by the supervisor.
