Job summary

University of Texas Rio Grande Valley seeks a College Readiness Coordinator for the Talent Search program in the Rio Grande Valley. You will guide students and families on college planning, financial aid, and transitions to higher education.

The role includes recruiting participants, coordinating tutoring, evaluating progress, and delivering enrichment activities while partnering with schools and post-secondary institutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
• Two years of experience in K-12 or Higher Education performing duties related to college readiness, outreach, or student services.
• Ability to plan, implement and evaluate programs.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills.
• Willingness to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and support to students and families for college planning, exams, applications and financial aid.
• Coordinate student recruitment by interviewing, evaluating, and selecting eligible participants.
• Monitor and assess student progress with school personnel to tailor services.
• Plan, implement and evaluate enrichment opportunities (summer programs, campus visits, workshops, field trips).
• Coordinate tutoring/mentoring services to boost academic achievement.
• Collect and maintain participant data for reporting.
• Provide information and support services with school administration and staff.
• Offer workshops to promote college readiness for students and families.
• Hire, train and supervise tutors/mentors as needed.
• Participate in other program-related duties.
