Job summary

Heights Philadelphia is seeking an Academy Advisor to develop and coordinate academic programs that support Steppingstone Academy Middle - High School scholars in their postsecondary planning, including one-on-one advising and group workshops, with a focus on college and career readiness. The role reports to the Associate Director and contributes to the organization’s college success programming.

This is a hybrid position with Saturday in-person work during the academic year and virtual hours

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field.
• Knowledgeable about college applications and readiness.
• Experience with high school students and diverse backgrounds.
• Comfort with group and individual advising.
• Regular contact with students and families.
• In-person attendance on Saturdays as required.
• Ability to use data systems and reporting tools.
• Commitment to COVID safety guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized pre-college advising to a caseload up to 60 students onsite.
• Build relationships with school instructional staff and administration.
• Conduct advising sessions on college and career readiness.
• Assist students with ELAP tasks, applications, and scholarships.
• Ensure students complete annual program benchmarks.
• Document advising notes in Salesforce.
• Attend staff meetings and professional development sessions.
• Engage with families to support participants.
• Collaborate with High School Coordinator for events and group sessions.
