Job summary

Easterseals Massachusetts seeks a College Navigator to provide on-campus and virtual support to college students with disabilities as they navigate academics and campus life. The role involves coordinating with campuses and supporting students’ transition to higher education.

Work is onsite at Bristol Community College campuses (Attleboro, Fall River, New Bedford, Taunton), UMass Dartmouth, and Dean College, with potential travel to nearby Southeast colleges.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in related field required; and/or Master’s degree in related field.
• Experience with young adults with disabilities preferred.
• Knowledge of Blackboard, Moodle, Canvas, etc. for learning platforms.

Responsibilities

• Develop action plans each semester addressing student goals.
• Provide 1:1 coaching to support goals in higher education and independent living.
• Support executive functioning skills such as time management and organization.
• Identify barriers and problem-solve with students and college staff.
• Create a supportive environment between the college and the student.
• Advocate for the student by identifying needs to college staff.
• Maintain documentation monitoring client progress toward goals.
• Communicate with referring agencies and program manager regularly.
• Assist students with navigating Blackboard, Canvas, and Moodle.
