Job summary

Indian River State College in Florida is seeking a talented Adjunct Instructor of Music to inspire and engage students through high-quality instruction in the performing arts. In this role, you will teach assigned music appreciation courses, evaluate student learning, provide timely feedback, and foster a supportive learning environment that encourages creativity, critical thinking, and artistic growth.

This position is open only to candidates who reside in Florida and a select group of states;

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Music or MFA/PhD preferred.
• 18 graduate hours in Music required (minimum).
• Experience teaching music at the college level is preferred.
• Understanding of online pedagogy is required.
• SACS credentialing requirements must be met.

Responsibilities

• Instruct assigned music courses.
• Grade quizzes, tests and assignments with timely feedback.
• Assign final grades with clear grade justification.
• Maintain a safe, productive classroom environment.
• Respond to student inquiries about content and grading.
• Collaborate with department colleagues as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
