Qualifications

• Must be a current UVU Student
• Successful completion of college-level coursework in music, music history, music appreciation, popular music, or a related field is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Grade student assignments, quizzes, worksheets, discussion posts, listening exercises, and other course activities according to instructor-provided rubrics and guidelines.
• Evaluate written assignments for completeness, accuracy, evidence of thoughtful engagement, and understanding of course concepts.
• Record grades accurately in the college's learning management system.
• Provide brief, constructive feedback to students when appropriate.
• Identify assignments or responses that require the instructor's judgment and refer them to the instructor rather than independently making decisions outside established grading guidelines.
• Maintain consistency in grading across students and course sections.
• Assist the instructor in identifying missing assignments, grading discrepancies, or students who may be falling behind.
• Help organize and maintain electronic grading records.
• Communicate regularly with the instructor regarding grading progress, questions, unusual student responses, or concerns.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding student grades, academic records, and personal information.
