Faculty Qualifications

• An earned doctorate in Music Education or a closely related field is required by the start date of the position
• Record of a minimum of 3 years of successful EC-12 public and/or private school teaching experience, or relevant professional experience, as an instrumental (string) music educator
• A research profile that demonstrates emerging or established national/international recognition in music education

Preferred Qualifications

In addition to the required qualifications, individuals with the following preferred qualifications are strongly encouraged to apply:

• Successful experience teaching string music education courses in higher education
• Demonstrated experience in community-engaged scholarship through leadership and participation in initiatives such as String Project and after-school programs
• Demonstrated success of solo or/and chamber performances on a string instrument
