Job summary

Capital District Physicians Health Plan Inc (CDPHP) is offering a 10-week Summer College Internship Program in New York. Interns will work on meaningful projects, be mentored by managers, and participate in development workshops across multiple tracks including IT, Analytics, and more.

The internship runs from June to August, up to 40 hours per week. Housing is not provided; remote work may be considered case-by-case.

Qualifications

• Computing Sciences & IT majors/related programs.
• Experience with Azure/AWS or other cloud, C#, Angular, GIT, Github Copilot or AI tools like Claude Code, GPT Codex, etc.
• High School diploma with continuous college enrollment (full-time undergrad/grad).
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for technical/non-technical audiences.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail.
• Ability to work well in a team and build relationships.
• Demonstrates organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently and on teams as needed.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite and professional desktop usage.

Summary:

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience that provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and be part of our company. Our college interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored under their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the entire summer. Through the internship program, our interns can attend development workshops that are focused on key business concepts. Interns may work within the skills-based tracks of Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical and/or technical based degree programs.

• This is a paid 10-week summer internship from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).
• Interns may reside in either a technical or non-technical area.
• Development workshops are provided to help with the transition from school to the corporate environment.
• Housing is not provided as part of our program.

Essential Accountabilities:

• Specific duties will vary by assignment; specific divisional callouts are listed below.
• Supporting the Candesa Pharmacy Solutions development team by implementing and testing application enhancements, completing conversion work, participating in Agile ceremonies, collaborating with team members through code reviews and technical discussions, and contributing to the delivery of high-quality software solutions.
• Works with a mentor and supports key strategic projects.
• Completes work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
• Performs a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks that will cover a broad range of business-related projects.
• Creates and delivers presentations at completion of internship.
• Consistently demonstrates high standards of integrity by supporting the Lifetime Healthcare Companies' mission and values, adhering to the Corporate Code of Conduct, and leading to the Lifetime Way values and beliefs.
• Maintain confidentiality and protection of member privacy in accordance with the company policies.
• Regular and reliable attendance is expected and required.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include: Computing Sciences & Information Technology (i.e. Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT Networking, Cybersecurity, etc.) or similar program(s)
• Preferred (but not required) experience with: Azure/AWS/Other cloud, C#, Angular, GIT, Github Copilot or other AI tools such as Claude Code, GPT Codex, etc.
• High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all levels of the company.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail changing environment and deliver high-quality work product.
• Ability to work well in a team establishing good working relationships with peers.
• Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
• Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
• Self-motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra- and inter- departmental teams as needed.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
• Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.
