Capital District Physicians Health Plan Inc is offering a 10-week paid Summer College Internship Program for undergraduate and graduate students. Interns partake in development workshops, are mentored by managers, and can work in various non-technical and technical tracks.

The program runs from June to August with up to 40 hours weekly and includes mentoring, project work, and a closing presentation. Interns will gain hands-on experience in analytics, digital platforms, and market trend

Qualifications

• Pursuing undergrad or graduate degree in Business/Management, Math/Data Science, or Business Analytics.
• Preferred experience with Google Analytics and Excel for data analysis.
• High School diploma with continuous college enrollment (full-time).
• Maintains good academic standing.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to interact with diverse audiences.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and deliver quality work.

Responsibilities

• Measure business analytics across digital platforms and assets, forecasting trends in digital engagement.
• Benchmark engagement metrics to industry standards.

Summary:

The Summer College Internship Program is a 10-week paid internship experience that provides undergraduate and graduate students with the opportunity to attend development workshops, network, and be part of our company. Our college interns work on meaningful projects, are mentored under their respective managers, and continue to develop throughout the entire summer. Through the internship program, our interns can attend development workshops that are focused on key business concepts. Interns may work within the skills-based tracks of Business Administration, Information Technology, Actuarial, Human Resources, Analytics & Data, Communications, Finance, Marketing & Sales, Project Management, Clinical Studies, Customer Experience, Digital Operations, and other non-technical and/or technical based degree programs.

• This is a paid 10-week summer internship from the first Monday in June to the second Friday in August (up to 40 hours per week).
• Interns may reside in either a technical or non-technical area.
• Development workshops are provided to help with the transition from school to the corporate environment.
• Housing is not provided as part of our program.

Essential Accountabilities:

• Specific duties will vary by assignment; specific divisional callouts are listed below.
• In this internship, the individual will be focused on the measurement of business analytics across our digital platforms and assets, including forecasting trends in digital engagement and benchmarking our engagement metrics to industry standards. This individual will also be involved in and should have a passion for technology research within the healthcare space and evaluating the impact of market trends on satisfaction with our digital assets. This individual will work with key stakeholders to identify segments to target for digital adoption and engagement goals and perform regular analysis of digital adopters by variables such as device usage, age band, product line, and brand.
• Works with a mentor and supports key strategic projects.
• Completes work assignments based on business needs, departmental priorities, and individual qualifications.
• Performs a mix of technical and/or non-technical tasks that will cover a broad range of business-related projects.
• Creates and delivers presentations at completion of internship.

• Maintain confidentiality and protection of member privacy in accordance with the company policies.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Desired Majors/Degree Programs Include: Business & Management (i.e. Finance, Actuarial, Accounting, Management, Marketing, Supply Chain Management, etc.); Mathematics & Data Science (i.e. Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, etc), Business Analytics or similar program(s)
• Preferred (but not required) experience with: Google Analytics and Microsoft Excel for data analysis
• High School diploma along with proof of continuous college enrollment (enrolled in a full-time undergraduate or graduate degree program).
• Must be in good academic standing.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with ability to interact with technical and non-technical audiences and interface with staff at all levels of the company.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment while maintaining strong attention to detail changing environment and deliver high-quality work product.
• Ability to work well in a team establishing good working relationships with peers.
• Demonstrates strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving and prioritization skills.
• Proactive approach to work, displaying creativity and flexibility in completing assigned tasks.
• Commitment to continuous improvement of skills and team functioning.
• Self‑motivated and able to work independently, as well as on intra‑ and inter‑ departmental teams as needed.
• Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Experience using a desktop computer in a professional environment.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to work while sitting and/or standing at a workstation viewing a computer and using a keyboard, mouse and/or phone for three (3) or more hours at a time.
• Ability to travel across the Health Plan service region for meetings and/or training courses as needed.
