Job summary

Wellesley College seeks a College Chaplain and Christian Life Coordinator to serve the spiritual needs of all students, with a focus on Protestant and Catholic services, interfaith engagement, and leadership of multifaith programming within the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life.

The role requires a Master of Divinity or equivalent, 2–5 years of related experience in higher education religious life, and preferably ordination.

Qualifications

• A minimum of two to five years of related experience in higher education in religious and spiritual life and student affairs.
• Experience with college age programming, pastoral care, mentoring, and advising.
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without employer’s sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Pastoral care and crisis response for students and campus community.
• Oversee Protestant worship and Catholic Mass, lead student services and major festival celebrations.
• Sponsor interfaith programs with clear learning objectives and goals.
• Lead and develop WC Connect and other retreats, coordinating with campus partners.
• Collaborate with staff on interfaith programs and provide prayers/words of wisdom at events.
• Promote religious literacy and provide educational content across Christian traditions.
• Contribute to a vibrant campus community through outreach and student leadership mentoring.
• Oversee communications and administrative duties for ORSL; manage department budget.
• Build connections with local Christian resources and advise college leadership.
