Position: College & Career Coordinator

We are seeking a College & Career Coordinator to join our Family Hope Center Program. As a College & Career Coordinator, you will support strategic goals and best practices for the College and Career Program, ensuring alignment with Buckner’s mission, vision, and values. You will develop and implement plans to meet overall goals, serve as a liaison to higher education institutions, community organizations, and businesses, and help shine hope in the lives of others.

What you'll do:
  1. Collaborate with FHC Directors/Managers and Teen Coordinators to design, develop, and support the implementation of a holistic College and Career program.
  2. Develop a curriculum with components, best practices, tools, and resources addressing youth development in areas such as job and life skills, career and college exploration, leadership, communication, character development, goal setting, and educational success.
  3. Support local Family Hope Centers in meeting strategic goals and ensuring best practices, continuity, and compliance with grant requirements related to the program. Develop and implement program structure.
  4. Manage reporting for College & Career sites, ensuring updates are timely, compliance is maintained, and reports are available.
  5. Work with Teen Coordinators to implement the program at their sites, providing ongoing training and support to maintain quality and compliance.
  6. Lead data collection and develop tools to monitor and track participant progress.
  7. Build partnerships with local businesses and organizations for youth internships and career exploration opportunities.
  8. Coordinate college seminars, workshops, tours, and identify financial aid and scholarship opportunities.
  9. Participate in community outreach, school events, parent conferences, and other activities as needed.
  10. Develop systems for family engagement, supporting parent involvement through information sessions and events.
  11. Assist participants in accessing college and career resources, including enrollment, transportation, testing, and other services.
What you'll bring:
  • Bachelor’s degree in education, human services, business, or related field.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with children and families in a relevant setting.
  • Proficiency in English; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Ability to develop and deliver curriculum-based training.
  • Knowledge of classroom management techniques.
  • Willingness to obtain CPR, First Aid, and activity training.
  • Valid driver’s license, ability to drive, and proof of insurance; must be 21 or older.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform related tasks.
