Job summary

The Chronicle Of Higher Education, Inc. is seeking a Bus Operator to transport students and staff to athletic events and field trips. You will coordinate mechanical maintenance, inspect vehicles for safety, and ensure compliance with state regulations.

Responsibilities include maintaining schedules for events, supervising passenger conduct, and handling upkeep of college vehicles. Requires a high school diploma and at least one year of bus operation experience, plus relevant licenses.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of state vehicle operation regulations and safety standards.
• Ability to apply first aid when needed.
• Understanding of customer service in a school setting.
• Familiarity with vehicle inspections and maintenance records.
• Ability to communicate clearly and follow policies.

Responsibilities

• Operate buses/vehicles to transport students and staff safely to events and trips.
• Coordinate maintenance and repairs; contact external repair services as needed.
• Inspect vehicles prior to operation for safety; clean interior/exterior; refuel and oil.
• Ensure compliance with state emissions and regulatory standards; maintain inspection records.
• Maintain passenger behavior and safety; follow college policies.
• Maintain transportation schedules for college events.
• Perform related duties as required.
