Job summary

Roane State Community College in Harriman is seeking a Bus Driver on a temporary part-time basis to transport students, faculty and staff to events and activities. Flexibility includes evenings, weekends and occasional overnight travel.

The role requires CDL with passenger endorsement, clean driving record, and DOT medical card, with responsibilities covering bus operation, safety, and regulatory paperwork. Prior driving experience is preferred, with strong customer service skills essential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• CDL with passenger endorsement and clean driving record.
• Big Bus-Class B CDL with P endorsement.
• DOT medical card is current.
• Must be at least 25 years of age.
• No DWI or DUI convictions.

Responsibilities

• Operates, cleans, maintains, fuels and inspects buses.
• Ensures safe operation of the bus.
• Ensures the safety of all passengers.
• Maintains current status of all qualifications of commercial driving according to institutional, local, state and federal regulations.
• Completes all necessary paperwork promptly and accurately according to institution, state and federal agencies.
• Completes all training and testing required by the institution, state and federal agencies.
• Maintains accurate records of hours of service and miles driven.
• Performs simple repairs to keep the buses safe and operable.
• Other duties as assigned.
