This role requires an energetic, dedicated, and detail-oriented person who can manage multiple tasks. This individual is a team player with a willingness to learn and the ability to manage multiple tasks while adapting to shifting priorities.

Duties and Responsibilities

Under supervision, performs miscellaneous clerical, administrative, research, or other work related to the operation of a college or other unit where such work is required on a part-time basis or for a period of limited duration. Performs routine clerical work; may answer and attend to telephone calls; maintain records; operate office machines (such as a copier); sort and distribute mail; issue keys and identity cards, act as a messenger, and perform related tasks as required. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance ORSP administrative processes. Facilitate communication among faculty, staff, Research Foundation personnel, and institutional offices to ensure timely processing of grant-related transactions. Provide guidance and training to faculty and staff on compliance requirements, financial management practices, and reporting procedures. Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Core Competencies

Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred. Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Excellent skills in writing, interpersonal, customer service, and presentation. Adaptable to a fast-paced work environment and changing needs and shifting priorities. Detail-oriented, well-organized, with the ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and work independently.

Pay Range

$21 hourly

These functions include legal assessment and signing of agreements where RFCUNY is named as a fiscal agent; setting up award accounts; preparing sub-awards and assisting PIs in monitoring the work of the recipients of sub-awards; supporting project directors with hiring and managing research project and sponsored program staff; supporting the purchasing and paying for goods and services with grant and program funds; managing financial aspects of projects including accounts receivable, financial reporting, invoicing, budget monitoring, and cost compliance with uniform guidance; ensuring that sponsor financial requirements are met; monitoring compliance with applicable project and financial management rules and laws; supporting the management of independent and external audits and financial reviews; and providing data, information, management expertise, and other supports to CUNY’s research and sponsored programs.
