The College Connections Project located at the Manhattan Educational Opportunity Center (Manhattan EOC) seeks a part-time College Advisor. This position is an in-person position located at the Manhattan EOC. This is a federally grant funded TRIO EOC position. Continued employment in this position is contingent upon ongoing funding.
The Manhattan EOC is one of 10 EOCs across the state of New York providing free academic and career training to adult learners in New York. College Connections provides comprehensive post‑secondary access services to eligible New York City adults. The CCP aims to inspire, motivate, and empower non‑traditional adult learners to seek post‑secondary opportunities. This position reports to the College Connections Project Director. The ideal candidate has experience advising/counseling applicants through the college admissions process and can guide applicants through every facet of it. The ideal candidate must also possess excellent communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, proven ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals both in person and over the phone, applying tact and discretion as situations demand.
