Job summary

Southern University at New Orleans seeks a Community Outreach Advisor to strengthen engagement between the EOC TRIO Program and eligible individuals pursuing postsecondary education. You will build partnerships, coordinate outreach activities, and connect participants with educational and support services.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in education, counseling, social work, human development, student services, or a related field; associate degree with 3+ years' related experience may be considered.
• 2+ years of experience in education, counseling, social work, student services, human services, TRIO, outreach, case management, or a similar field.
• Experience working with diverse populations and community organizations.

Responsibilities

• Provide individualized guidance concerning academic preparation and financial aid.
• Assist participants with admissions applications, financial aid documents, and enrollment.
• Assess participant needs, plan referrals, and provide follow-up support.
