Job summary

The Department of Transitional Assistance is seeking a Collections Supervisor to lead the daily operations of the Collections Unit, supervising staff and ensuring timely processing of overpayment collections under SNAP, TAFDC, and EAEDC. This role requires strong financial reporting skills and adherence to state and federal regulations.

Qualifications

• Four years of professional accounting or auditing experience with supervisory responsibility.
• Ability to prepare and interpret financial reports and documents.
• Knowledge of tax accounting and governmental accounting terminology.

Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily Collections Unit operations, including staff workload and performance.
• Manage collections activities for SNAP, TAFDC, and EAEDC programs and reconcile payments.
• Prepare and reconcile financial statements, reports, and records in MMARS and internal systems.
• Coordinate with leadership and partners on reconciliations, reporting, and systems issues.
• Respond to inquiries from clients, advocates, and stakeholders regarding overpayments.
