Job summary

GoodLeap is seeking a Collections Specialist in Portland, OR to resolve overdue bills and collect payments from individuals or businesses responsible for the debt. You will identify accounts with delinquency and drive them toward current status while meeting daily, weekly, and monthly metrics.

The role requires 1–2 years in credit/collections, strong communication, and a self-motivated, team-oriented approach. Compensation is $18.00 per hour plus bonus, with standard office duties.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of direct experience in credit and collections.
• Strong sales, negotiation and persuasion skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Telemarketing experience with financial products is preferred.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.

Responsibilities

• Increase the collection of outstanding payments as an individual contributor.
• Identify overdue accounts and solution paths to bring loans current.
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly collection and performance metrics.
• Make outbound and handle inbound calls to resolve debts.
• Comply with GoodLeap collections policies and procedures.

Collections Specialists are responsible for resolving overdue bills and collecting payments from the individuals or businesses responsible for the debt. Identifying accounts with overdue payments and keeping records of the amount owed and the length of the delinquency.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

• Increase the collection of outstanding payments within our personal finance department, as an individual contributor in the collections process
• Identify accounts with overdue payments and find solutions to help bring their loan to a current status
• Maintain daily, weekly and monthly collection and metric goals
• Outbound/Inbound calls with clients to resolve debts owed
• All in compliance with Goodleap’s collections policies and procedures

Required Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:

• 1-2 years of direct experience in credit and collections; knowledgeable in sales, negotiation and persuasion tools
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Prior telemarketing experience with financial products preferred
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications
• Self‑motivated and extremely goal‑oriented

Compensation: $18.00 / hr. +bonus
