Job summary

Newrez is seeking a Collections Representative in Houston to manage delinquent loans and loss mitigation across portfolios, coordinating with borrowers to cure delinquencies and arrange settlements. You will evaluate workout options and document progress for each case.

You will collaborate with a Commercial team to route inquiries, support payoff requests, and ensure timely communications. Strong collections, negotiation, and multitasking abilities are essential to succeed.

Qualifications

• Experience in collections required.
• Familiar with skip tracing and loan terminology.
• Strong verbal negotiation and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
• Weekend availability may be required.

Responsibilities

• Receive and review loan information.
• Contact borrowers to cure delinquency, set up payment arrangements, and/or settle accounts.
• Identify and recommend optimal workout strategies based on borrower circumstances.
• Identify and recommend assistance strategies as necessary.
• Increase frequency of borrower contact based on days since last payment.
• Collect documents related to rehab progress and maintenance improvement requests.
• Collect documents needed for Loss Mitigation options.
• Work Loss Mitigation processes as a SPOC to assist with getting borrowers to the correct workout.
• Work the shared Commercial team email boxes for Loan servicing, general inquiries, and payoff requests.
• Work the Commercial team Voicemail for return calls.
