Qualifications include 4–7 years of registrar work, a degree in museum studies, familiarity with cultural property laws, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in museum studies or equivalent experience.
• Four to seven years registrar experience.
• Familiarity with laws on cultural property and best practices.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Discretion and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
• Proficiency with TMS and standard office software.

Responsibilities

• Manage the registration and accession process for objects in the permanent collection.
• Oversee deaccessioning processes in line with legal requirements and policy.
• Prepare quarterly Collections Committee and Board reports.
• Coordinate acquisition proposals with Deputy Director of Collections and Exhibitions.
• Arrange transport of artwork and manage couriers, security, and insurance.
• Manage incoming long-term loans, and generate receipts and loan agreements.
• Enter data into the collection management system (TMS).
• Conduct collections inventories and spot checks.
• Oversee installations at PMA sites and support large-scale reinstallations.
• Assist in budget preparation for packing, shipping, and loan insurance.
• Perform other duties related to collections documentation, care, inventory and movement.
