Job summary

PenFed Credit Union in San Antonio, TX seeks a Manager, Collections Recovery to lead the strategy and oversee the entire consumer charge-off portfolio, including debt sales and in-house recovery activities. This onsite role collaborates with legal, compliance and risk partners to align with division targets.

You will manage recovery specialists, drive KPI performance, develop training, and implement process improvements, while ensuring regulatory adherence and timely reporting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in a related field required.
• Eight years of collections experience with asset recovery and pipeline management required.
• At least three years of supervison/management experience required.
• Experience managing multiple teams/functions and building cross‑functional relationships.
• Strong leadership, communication, and time management skills.
• Experience with AI tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop a recovery team, ensuring compliance with regulations and service levels.
• Implement performance management with KPIs and monthly coaching.
• Oversee recruitment, scheduling, capacity, task completion, and evaluations.
• Drive continuous improvement and automation to increase efficiency.
• Ensure accurate reporting and timely data-driven decisions.
• Collaborate with legal, compliance, and risk partners.
