Cyprus Credit Union is seeking a Collections Officer I to balance effective collections with exceptional member service. You will work directly with members to resolve delinquent accounts, understand circumstances, and identify solutions while protecting the Credit Union's interests.

The role requires strong communication, attention to detail, and knowledge of lending products and collection regulations. Monday–Friday schedules with rotating late shifts are typical.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous collections experience within a financial institution is preferred.
• Knowledge of collection practices and applicable laws and regulations.
• Understanding of lending and loan products preferred.
• Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to remain professional and solution-focused during difficult conversations.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Responsabilidades

• Contact members regarding delinquent loans and accounts to identify solutions and establish payment arrangements.
• Manage collection activity across consumer loans, credit cards, lines of credit, real estate loans, and home equity loans.
• Review account activity and determine next steps based on member circumstances and status.
• Explain payment options, potential collection actions, and resources clearly and professionally.
• Use de-escalation skills to navigate challenging member interactions while maintaining a positive Credit Union experience.
• Document collection activity, member conversations, payment arrangements, and correspondence accurately.
• Monitor delinquent accounts, loan extensions, collateral insurance, and other activity requiring follow-up.
• Research accounts and prepare documentation for potential charge-offs.
• Follow applicable collection laws, regulations, Credit Union policies, and confidentiality requirements.

Monday–Friday,8:30 AM–5:30 PM, with rotating late shifts from10:00 AM–7:00 PM and rotating Saturdays from9:00 AM–3:00 PM.
