University of Northwestern - St. Paul is seeking an Assistant Professor & Collection Management Librarian to lead the development and stewardship of the Berntsen Library’s collections, including cataloging, metadata, and research support.

The role advances teaching, learning, and student success through information literacy instruction and collaboration with faculty. The position is a faculty appointment with a focus on collection leadership, library systems, and scholarly engagement, reporting

Qualifikationen

• Master's degree in Library and Information Science (MLIS/MLS) from an ALA-accredited program.
• Minimum of one year of professional experience in an academic, research, or public library.
• Experience in collection development, acquisitions, cataloging, metadata management, or related library operations.
• Knowledge of library systems, cataloging standards, electronic resources, and collection management practices.
• Experience providing research assistance, information literacy instruction, or faculty collaboration.
• Maintain a growing, personal relationship with Jesus Christ and support Northwestern's mission.

Aufgaben

• Lead development, assessment, and stewardship of print and electronic collections to support curriculum.
• Direct acquisitions, budgeting, licensing, partnerships, and lifecycle management.
• Provide leadership for cataloging and metadata services with standards and workflows.
• Deliver research support and information literacy instruction for students and faculty.
• Serve as liaison to assigned programs, partnering on curriculum and information literacy initiatives.
• Collaborate with library colleagues, vendors, and consortia to enhance resources and services.
• Contribute to faculty governance, service, and professional engagement.
• Perform other duties as requested.
