Job summary

County of El Paso is seeking an Intermediate Financial Recovery Specialist to support collections efforts, audits, and cash handling across county offices. The role requires familiarity with court documents, payment plans, and data entry into county systems.

The incumbent will manage caseloads, prepare daily deposits, and provide customer service to litigants and staff while ensuring compliance with county procedures and confidentiality guidelines.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with 1 year accounting experience and 4 years of general office/customer service experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience acceptable to the County of El Paso.

Responsibilities

• Prepares case files and attends court hearings; reports money recovered to the courts; initiates warrant paperwork; recalls warrants when payment has been made.
• Performs internal audit for packets processed, logs errors, stamps, initials and scans packets; ensures accuracy and completeness.
• Administers cash handling: counts monies daily, prepares deposits, and reconciles receipts and deposits.
• Reviews court documents and assists in determining eligibility for payment plans; enters data into databases.
