Job summary

Olympic Steel is seeking a Collections Analyst to manage timely collection of invoices and assess customer credit risk. You will implement actions to improve cash flow and reduce past-due balances while maintaining strong relationships with customers and partners.

The role emphasizes adherence to safety, regulatory requirements, and a data-driven approach to collections, with opportunities to influence AR policies and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s in Finance or related field preferred.
• 2+ years of commercial collections and/or credit experience.
• Demonstrated ability to implement corrective actions and perform problem solving analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to observe and comply with safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
• Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, planning, leading, and controlling skills.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.

Job Description

The Collections Analyst is responsible for the timely and efficient collection of due and past due invoices in accordance with customer credit terms and collections and accounts receivable policies and procedures. Position conducts collection risk assessments of new and existing customers, while monitoring outstanding/past due collections. Recommends and executes process enhancements to improve cash flow, reduce receivables and resolve and reduce short / non-payment issues. This position is also responsible for helping build strong and long-term customer and business partner relationships.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor’s in Finance or related field preferred
• 2+ years of commercial collections and/or credit experience
• Demonstrated ability to participate in collections-related matters, by successfully implementing corrective actions and performing problem solving analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to observe and comply with all safety, environmental, regulatory, and statutory requirements.
• Exceptional organizational, multi-tasking, planning, leading, and controlling skills.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
