State of Wisconsin in Madison seeks a Collection System Services Supervisor to lead the sewer maintenance, monitoring, and locating programs using Reliability Centered Maintenance. You will supervise a skilled team operating within the district’s CSS under the O&M umbrella.
The role requires extensive experience with wastewater collection systems and CMMS, with a focus on growth-minded, inclusive collaboration across teams in a dynamic, mission-driven operation.
Established in 1930 to protect the lakes and streams of the upper Yahara watershed, the District is a wastewater collection and treatment utility serving about 435,000 people in 24 Madison-area owner communities covering about 191 square miles. The District owns and operates 151 miles of pipe and 18 regional pumping stations that convey approximately 38 million gallons of wastewater to the Nine Springs Wastewater Treatment Plant daily. Through the treatment process, we recover valuable resources before returning clean water to the environment.
Under the general supervision of the Collection System Manager, the Collection System Services (CSS) Supervisor is responsible for managing the District's sewer maintenance, monitoring and locating programs using Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) principles and supervising a team of skilled technicians and locators that maintain the raw wastewater and effluent conveyance components of District facilities within the collection system; and for coordinating CSS activities with other District workgroups.
The Collection System Services Supervisor is a key member of the District's Operations and Maintenance team. This position works closely with other Operations and Maintenance (O&M) supervisors and their respective teams. The successful incumbent must demonstrate a growth mindset in navigating a dynamic, mission-driven operation, while remaining committed to fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
