Wilsonart in Temple, Texas has an opening for a Collator Helper on the night shift from 9pm to 7am.

The Collator Helper obtains Kraft rolls, inspects for damage, monitors materials, threads the machine, and assists with setting up rolls and pallets. This role requires heavy lifting and adherence to safety standards in a production environment. Training is provided with opportunities for advancement in Corestock.

Qualifications

• One year of work experience required.
• Knowledge of safety standards applicable to Production areas.

Responsibilities

• Obtain Kraft rolls for collating.
• Visually inspect rolls for damage and discard damaged paper.
• Monitor raw materials for quality and make adjustments as needed.
• Thread machine, perform splices, and re-thread as needed.
• Set up rolls for the oncoming crew.
• Maintain regular attendance.
• Train in backup positions in Phenolic/Corestock.
• Operate multiple pieces of industrial equipment.

The Collator Helper obtains raw material to be collated at specified lengths as determined by the Product Quality Department. Make sure machine is always running properly. Performs other task as needed. This position is for night shift working 9pm – 7:00 am, Monday/Tuesday and Friday/Saturday.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESObtain Kraft rolls for collating as needed.Visually inspect rolls for damage, discard any damaged paper in the appropriate waste can.Continually monitor raw materials for visual quality and line up, make any necessary adjustments.Thread machine up; make splices and re-thread machine as needed.Change out pallets and make sure corresponding tags are placed in each completed pallet.Set up rolls for oncoming crew.Regular attendance required.Train in back up positions as required (Phenolic/Corestock). Operate multiple pieces of industrial equipmentKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Operation of equipment and machinery in a safe manner.Knowledge of the safety standards applicable to the Production areas and other pertinent rules / regulations governing Knowledge of computers is sufficient to input and retrieve dataEXPERIENCE: One year’s work experience required.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:Heavy work - Heavy work. Tasks involve pushing / pulling of material up to 100 lbs., lifting up to 85 lbs. from floor to mid-thigh, lift to 50 lbs. from mid-thigh to shoulder, lift 40 lbs. from shoulder to overhead, carry up to 135 lbs. and standing and walking during a minimum ten-hour shift.ENVIRONMENT:Located in an environment with regular exposure to fumes or odors, temperature extremes, or loud noises which cause noticeable discomfort or moderate risk of accident or illness.
