Job description

DecisiveInstincts is hiring aSeniorSubject Matter Expert(Applications)-Remote but must be able to travel to Clarksburg, VA . This requires a secret clearance.

Responsibility:

  • Lead enterprise-level configuration, customization, and optimization of Atlassian tools to ensure scalability, performance, and alignment with organizational workflows.
  • Design and implement integrations between Atlassian tools and other enterprise systems (e.g., CI/CD pipelines, version control).
  • Develop and automate processes using Jira Automation, REST APIs, Groovy, or Python.
  • Provide tiered support, manage user permissions, security configurations, and enforce standardized governance across Atlassian platforms.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to drive tool adoption, deliver user training, and produce technical documentation, including FISMA-related compliance artifacts.
  • Experience working in an Agile/SAFe environment using Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, and Bamboo.

Requirements:

  • Secret Clearance
  • Minimum of 8 years’ experience recommended inenterprise-level Atlassian tool management.In absence of years of experience, certifications or past work may be used to show the level of experience needed to perform at this level.
  • Minimum 5 years in Atlassian customization, integration, and automation.Minimum 2 years’ experience managing Atlassian infrastructure in AWS.
  • Proven expertise in AWS GovCloud environments supporting enterprise COTS applications.
  • Strong DevOps and automation experience aligned with Atlassian ecosystems.
  • Strong leadership in supporting collaboration platforms and enforcing enterprise standards.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related fieldpreferred.
  • Any of the following certificationspreferred- Atlassian Certified Expert (or combination of Atlassian certifications), Atlassian Certified Jira Administrator (Data Center & Server), Atlassian Certified Confluence Administrator, SAFe 6.0 Program Consultant (SPC) or SAFe Agilist (SA), AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (for environments hosted in AWS), Certified Scrum Professional (CSP), Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) (if involved in governance/security)
