Job summary

Minneapolis Public Schools seeks a Special Education Resource Teacher (SERT) for Bethune Elementary for the 2026-2027 school year. The SERT supports students with disabilities within general education, guiding IEP goals and implementing data-driven, evidence-based instructional practices.

The ideal candidate will collaborate with general education staff, develop transition plans, and ensure compliance with state and district guidelines while contributing to a diverse and inclusive learning

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university.
• Knowledge of state and federal laws and guidelines for special education services.
• Working knowledge of classroom management techniques and strategies; ability to adapt to diverse learning needs.

Responsibilities

• Support students with disabilities within general education through the resource program.
• Consult and collaborate with general education teachers on assessment, curriculum, and progress monitoring.
• Develop and monitor IEPs, evaluations, and transition plans as part of the IEP team.
