Job summary

MoDOT in Jefferson City is seeking an Exchange Online Administrator at entry/intermediate/senior levels for a CAREER-LADDER position. You will help keep mail flowing securely and reliably while protecting users from threats.

Responsibilities include managing Exchange Online, enhancing email security, enforcing DLP and mailbox governance, and collaborating with IT and security teams to improve system resilience and user experience. Direct supervision applies.

Qualifications

• 60 credit hours toward a related Bachelor's degree or an associate's degree in a relevant field.
• High School Diploma or GED with two years of computer systems experience.
• Knowledge of or willingness to learn Exchange Online and Proofpoint Email Security Services.

• Manage, monitor, and optimize Exchange Online environments for reliable mail flow.
• Administer and enhance email security to protect against threats.

This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the intermediate starting salary of $56,712.48, and a senior starting salary of $61,249.44.

What You'll Do

• Manage, monitor, and optimize Exchange Online environments, ensuring reliable mail flow and high service availability.
• Administer and enhance email security tools, focusing on spam/phishing protection, threat remediation, and secure messaging.
• Implement and maintain policies for data loss prevention, retention, encryption, and mailbox governance across the organization.
• Troubleshoot complex email delivery issues, perform root-cause analysis, and lead efforts to improve system resilience and user experience.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to design and enforce best-practice configuration, respond to emerging threats, and support ongoing operational improvements.

Minimum Qualifications

• 60 credit hours toward a related Bachelor's Degree, OR
• Associate’s Degree: Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field, OR
• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET, and two years of experience in computer systems, repairs, and operations.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of or willingness to learn Exchange Online and Proofpoint Email Security Services with the opportunity to learn/support other M365 platforms
• Team player, good work ethic, and eagerness to improve skills
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate with varying levels of professional staff, consultants, and partners
