Job summary

MoDOT is seeking an Information Systems Technologist to support and improve our email and information systems infrastructure. The role will work under supervision at entry/intermediate or senior levels, with responsibilities spanning Exchange Online administration, email security, and data governance.

Candidates should have related education or work experience and show strong communication and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Minimum: 60 credit hours toward related bachelor's degree, OR associate’s degree in related fields, OR HS diploma/GED plus 2 years of IT experience.
• Knowledge of Exchange Online and Proofpoint Email Security Services preferred.
• Strong communication, time management, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage, monitor, and optimize Exchange Online environments for reliable mail flow.
• Administer and enhance email security tools focusing on spam/phishing protection.
• Implement policies for data loss prevention, retention, and mailbox governance.
• Troubleshoot email delivery issues, perform root-cause analysis, and improve resilience.
• Collaborate with IT and security teams to enforce best-practice configurations.

This position may be filled at one of the three levels based on knowledge, skills, and abilities. The entry salary is posted above, with the intermediate starting salary of $56,712.48, and a senior starting salary of $61,249.44.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 60 credit hours toward a related Bachelor's Degree, OR
• Associate’s Degree: Business Administration, Computer Information Systems, Computer Science, Mathematics, or related field,OR
• High School Diploma or GED/HiSET, and two years of experience in computer systems, repairs, and operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of or willingness to learn Exchange Online and Proofpoint Email Security Services with the opportunity to learn/support other M365 platforms
• Team player, good work ethic, and eagerness to improve skills
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills
• Ability to collaborate with varying levels of professional staff, consultants, and partners
