Thriveworks is seeking a Supervising Psychiatrist to oversee remote supervision of our Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners in a telemedicine-enabled model. The role emphasizes quarterly QA, chart reviews, and adherence to state regulations.

Applicants must hold an MD/DO in Psychiatry with TX licensure and DEA, plus experience supervising NPs. This position offers flexible scheduling, full remote work with limited in-state travel, and competitive compensation.

Qualifications

• MD/DO in Psychiatry and current active TX license.
• Active DEA registration and ability to obtain/hold a compact license.
• 3+ years of practice experience (or 1+ year if board-certified or hospital-based).
• Minimum of 2 years supervising residents or mid-levels.
• Willing to supervise at least 4 NPs and maintain compliance.
• No malpractice payout, licensure disciplinary action, or investigations in last 5 years.

Responsibilities

• Provide remote clinical supervision to employed Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners.
• Conduct quarterly QA with each NP and respond to questions M–F during business hours.
• Review charts and progress notes to ensure state and regulatory compliance.
• Offer additional supervision of NPs based on clinical need or complexity.
• Complete a short 1-page Google Document after monthly supervision for each NP.
• Stay aligned with company policies and complete annual HR training.

About the Job

Thriveworks is seeking a Supervising Psychiatrist to join our growing team of highly talented mental health professionals! The ideal candidate will share our commitment to quality healthcare and exceptional patient service.

In an effort to maintain safety and best practices for our clinicians and patients via telemedicine. We do not currently treat substance use disorders, and we make every effort to refer out to an in-person provider when symptoms arise that are too severe to be treated via telemedicine only.

Collaborators must have an active TX license and a DEA

Compensation

• Once the NP starts seeing patients, compensation to the collaborating physician will be $800 per month, per NP

Key Responsibilities

• Work remotely to provide clinical supervision to our employed Board Certified Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners. Conduct quarterly QA with each NP. Availability via text/email to answer questions is required M-F during business hours, with a response within the same business day.
• Chart/Progress note review as required by state laws and governing bodies
• Provider may request additional supervision of the NP based on clinical need or complexity of NP practice
• Completion of a short 1-page Google Document after monthly supervision for each collaborating NP
• Stay knowledgeable of company policies and program guidelines
• Complete annual training as required by the HR department

Requirements

• MD/DO in Psychiatry
• Active and Unrestricted Licenses and DES in TX
• 3+ years of practice experience (or 1+ year if board-certified or hospital-based)
• A minimum of 2 years of experience supervising residents or mid-levels
• Must be willing to take a minimum of 4 NP’s
• No malpractice payout, licensure disciplinary action, or criminal/professional investigations in the last 5 years
• You must have a compact license or be willing to get one or be licensed in multiple states.
