Job summary

NORPEL Careers in New Bedford, MA is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor for our cold storage facility. The role is hands-on and reports to Maintenance Manager; located in Taunton, with local travel to other sites.

You will oversee upgrades to refrigerated warehouse space, maintain facilities, and develop a small maintenance team of technicians. Must have PM experience, electrical/plumbing knowledge, ability to lift up to 100 lbs, and a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• We are looking to fill the position of maintenance supervisor. This is a HANDS-ON position reporting to the Maintenance Manager. The job is located at our Cold Storage facility in Taunton, MA.
• This position will also require local travel to other locations, such as New Bedford, MA.
• Oversee and perform upgrades to refrigerated warehouse space.
• Maintain existing warehousing and production facilities.
• Develop a skilled maintenance team and supervise a small group of maintenance technicians and helpers.
• Inspect and repair machinery and facility systems such as electrical and plumbing.
• Complete specific projects with or without help from the crew.
• Provide support for maintenance on various machines within a cold storage facility.

• 2+ years mechanical and electrical experience maintaining forklifts and warehouse equipment or combination of experience and trade school.
• Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
• Knowledge of hand and power tools such as drills, grinders, sanders in the set up and fitting for welding or in finishing of welds.
• Previous experience in Cold Store is a plus
• Previous experience in facility/factory refrigeration areas is desired.
• Compliance / Refrigeration programming is a plus
• Must have a valid Driver’s license and transportation.
