Job summary

The Mushroom Company in Cambridge, MD is seeking a dependable Freezer Production Operator to support daily production and cold-storage operations. This role performs equipment startup, operation, defrost, sanitation, and shutdown procedures while monitoring the production process to ensure product quality and food safety.

The operator will work in a refrigerated environment, assist with handling, weighing, and processing mushroom products, and help maintain clean, organized work areas.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• At least one year of production experience preferred.
• Familiarity with production equipment.
• Experience in packing, warehouse, cold-storage, or transportation operations is a plus.
• Ability to read and understand work instructions in English.
• Willingness to work six days per week and extended hours when needed.
• Forklift and electric pallet jack certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, defrost, and shut down equipment on the mushroom production line.
• Monitor equipment and production processes for proper operation.
• Weigh and dump mushrooms onto the production line.
• Move products from the cooler to designated production areas.
• Add and test chemicals per procedures.
• Clean and sanitize equipment and work areas.
• Complete required production, equipment, and food-safety checks.
• Enter production information into the computer.
